Therapy Options and Methodologies
Whether offering therapy solutions to an individual, or to a couple or group as part of a relationship dynamic, the counseling methods will be similar. Ideally, a therapy session will mirror or at least resemble an engaged and informed conversation. This means addressing mental health and/or behavioral challenges and working to identify and establish solution focused goals. Shelby is well versed in a variety of psychotherapy techniques, including but not limited to: Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and Ego-State Therapy, which is more of a psychodynamic therapeutic approach. Each of these has demonstrated different levels of effectiveness on different mental health conditions or relationship issues, and will be chosen and utilized as such.
